Knotwood Architectural Systems
Structural aluminum finished in a convincing timber grain — specified where the architecture calls for wood but the climate does not forgive it.
Knotwood is the finish we reach for when a designer or architect has drawn timber and the building will not tolerate it. The sublimated woodgrain holds up under UV far better than stain on real wood, and because the substrate is aluminum, spans stay honest and the structure does not move with the seasons.
It shows up most on commercial work — restaurant terraces, hotel entries, office courtyards — where the finish has to look considered and then survive a decade of public use.
What we install
- Sublimated timber finishes over structural aluminum
- Battens, slats, screens and full roof systems
- Colour matching to architectural specification
- Non-combustible substrate
- Commercial-grade durability under public use
