Common questions

What homeowners ask.

How long does a residential patio cover take to build?

Most straightforward residential covers install in a few days once materials are on site. Larger louvered or custom structures take longer; we give you a date range in the quote, not a guess.

Do I need a permit for a patio cover?

Usually yes in Inland Empire cities, and we handle it. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and by whether the cover is attached or freestanding — we confirm during the site visit.

What is the difference between Alumawood and real wood?

Alumawood is powder-coated aluminum with an embossed woodgrain finish. It looks like painted timber but will not rot, warp, split, or need re-staining, and termites have no interest in it.

Can a patio cover attach to my existing roof?

In most cases yes. We check the fascia, rafters and attachment points during the site walk and engineer the connection accordingly — that is exactly what the site visit is for.

Do you offer motorized louvered roofs for homes?

Yes. We are an Authorized Equinox dealer — the blades rotate from fully open to sealed watertight, giving filtered light at midday and solid cover when the weather turns.

A couple of photos and rough measurements is enough to start. We’ll come out, measure properly, and give you a real number.
